umpire classes

Free umpire theory classes are offered at Waiuku Netball Centre for players, coaches and supporters who wish to increase knowledge of game rules and to those with an interest in commencing along the umpiring pathway.   

Classes are run by our WNC Umpire Co-ordinator and are held at Waiuku Netball Centre.  Classes are generally held in the evenings (6-7pm) over four week nights prior to the start of the season, with a refresher evening for returning umpires coinciding with the last evening.   

There are no prerequisites, and classes are open to all age groups juniors (year 7 & 8), college age and seniors.

Online theory test

The new Learning to Umpire Module replaces the Netball New Zealand Centre Theory test. The module is the first step towards the Centre Umpire Award and helps new and player umpires understand some of the rules of netball as well as some practical techniques to enhance their umpiring.

 Go to: https://www.netballnz.co.nz/get-involved/umpiring , under Learning to Umpire Module, follow the instruction.  You will be able to print out a certificate at the end please email your certificate attention to the Umpire Coordinator so that we can update our Centre records.
